The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. Some have great mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to navigate in tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's extremely efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've also noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and fallen books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's easy to install and is effective however, it's something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home and find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more randomized pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.

The device has a expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It is important to remember that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads must be changed every three months.

This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. It has a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants to have a clean home without spending hours doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module that has an elastomer pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to keep certain areas of your house from being swept with mop.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to collect the majority of hair our cats shed and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was in the process of working towards its goal.

The app was too simple and you had to change the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have some unique features which are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base also has a number of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

robotvacuummops  to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its application.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy units.
